Scaldá-re, v. a.
1. to warm, heat. Scaldate il mio letto, warm my bed; 2. (met.) to inflame, heat. Quel sol, che pria d'amor mi scaldò il petto, that sun (woman) who first kindled love in my breast; v. n. & r. 1. to grow warm or hot; 2. to grow angry, to chafe, fume. — d'allegrezza, to be overjoyed. — al fuoco, to warm one's self at the fire; s. m.
